OSTEOPATHIC BOARD CERTIFICATION

Component 4: Practice Performance Assessment & Improvement

Overview

Component 4 requires physicians to engage in continuous quality improvement through comparison of personal practice performance measured against national standards for their medical specialty. You can view your status for all components of Osteopathic Continuous Certification by visiting the AOA Physician Portal.

AOBPMR requires physicians to complete one Practice Performance Assessment (PPA) module and/or Quality Improvement (QI) activity attestation in each three year OCC/CME cycle. The module(s) or attestation must be completed prior to the expiration of a physician’s certification.

Component 4 can be satisfied by completing either of the following:

Quality Improvement (QI) Activity Attestation

The Quality Improvement (QI) activity attestation can be submitted for Component 4 credit using the online submission form in the Physician Portal. You’ll need your AOA website login to access the online form. If you’re attesting to multiple QI activities, you must submit one form per QI activity.
