Family medicine residents provide the voice of our specialty\u2019s future.<\/h4>\n<h4>The AOBFP appreciates and encourages input from physicians in training, and created the Resident Ambassador Program to assist the AOBFP by providing a resident\u2019s perspective with certain AOBFP activities, such as communication about the In-Service Examinations (ISEs), applying for certification (Early Entry, Initial and OMT Certification) and the AOBFP website. We are looking for family medicine residents enrolled in a recognized osteopathic program willing to serve a two-year term. Each program will have at least one resident ambassador.<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"btn blue-btn\" href=\"https:\/\/aoaforms.formstack.com\/forms\/2025_resident_ambassador_nomination_form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NOMINATE A RESIDENT<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Expectations of ambassadors<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently enrolled as an osteopathic family medicine program resident<\/li>\n<li>Ability to serve a two-year term<\/li>\n<li>Participate in two virtual meetings annually<\/li>\n<li>Assist AOBFP leadership in promoting the value of AOBFP certification to fellow residents and students through informative webinars, newsletter articles, emails and social media posts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nominee criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Family medicine resident, PGY-2 and above at the start of their term<\/li>\n<li>Desired attributes include:\n<ul>\n<li>Strong people skills and professionalism<\/li>\n<li>Timeliness, ability to follow direction<\/li>\n<li>Team skills, ability to compromise<\/li>\n<li>Agreeable to AOA\u2019s conflict of interest, confidentiality and volunteer policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Nomination process\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resident\u2019s program director completes a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aoaforms.formstack.com\/forms\/2025_resident_ambassador_nomination_form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-feathr-click-track=\"true\" data-feathr-link-aids=\"6424a1dfd25b4e03dfd659a4\">nomination form<\/a><\/li>\n<li>AOBFP reviews nominations on a rolling basis<\/li>\n<li>AOBFP selects resident ambassadors from among nominees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>If you have a resident in mind who would be a great fit for this role, please complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/aoaforms.formstack.com\/forms\/2025_resident_ambassador_nomination_form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nomination form<\/a> and return it to AOBFP Director, Deb Dupnik, CAE, CCSM-A, at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:aobfp@osteopathic.org\">aobfp@osteopathic.org<\/a>.<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Program goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Promote awareness:<\/strong>\u00a0Increase understanding of board certification benefits among residents.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encourage engagement:<\/strong>\u00a0Motivate residents to pursue board certification.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Provide resources:<\/strong>\u00a0Offer educational materials and support for the certification process.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Build community:<\/strong>\u00a0Foster a network of ambassadors and interested residents to create a culture around board certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"btn blue-btn\" href=\"https:\/\/aoaforms.formstack.com\/forms\/2025_resident_ambassador_nomination_form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SUBMIT A NOMINATION<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AOBFP Resident Ambassadors<\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the program The American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians\u2019 (AOBFP) Resident Ambassador Program is designed to strengthen the relationship between the AOBFP and family medicine residency programs, nurture family medicine and AOBFP champions, and enhance communications.
