Component 2: Lifelong Learning/Continuing Medical Education

Overview

Component 2 of the Osteopathic Continuous Certification process requires recertifying physicians to pursue lifelong learning through continuing medical education.

To complete Component 2 requirements in the primary specialties of Neurology and Psychiatry, a physician must fulfill 120 CME credits, including 50 specialty credits, during the three-year CME cycle prior to the OCC exam.

For subspecialty certification, 13 credits per CME cycle must be earned in the applicable subspecialty.
