Component 2: Lifelong Learning/Continuing Medical Education

Overview

Component 2 of the Osteopathic Continuous Certification process requires recertifying physicians to pursue lifelong learning through continuing medical education.

To complete component 2 requirements in the primary specialties of Aerospace Medicine, Occupational/Environmental Medicine, and Public Health/Community Medicine, candidates must earn 120 CME credits every three years. Of these, 30 credits must be AOA Category 1-A and 50 credits must be in the primary specialty.
