{"id":271,"date":"2017-02-23T22:00:04","date_gmt":"2017-02-23T22:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aoa.dev\/anesthesiology\/?page_id=32"},"modified":"2017-06-05T19:10:30","modified_gmt":"2017-06-05T19:10:30","slug":"volunteers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/certification.osteopathic.org\/sports-medicine\/volunteers\/","title":{"rendered":"Get Involved"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Volunteer Opportunities<\/h2>\n<p>The American Osteopathic Conjoint Sports Medicine Examination Committee is actively searching for AOA-certified osteopathic physicians to assist the committee in the following roles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Committee Members<\/li>\n<li>Subject Matter Experts<\/li>\n<li>Examiners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Committee Members <\/strong>are charged with helping establish and maintain high standards for certification of osteopathic physicians in the practice of Sports Medicine and other related subspecialties. They may be required to participate in writing exam items and in administering certification exams. Participation on the committee requires attendance at in-person meetings (travel expenses are reimbursed by the AOA) and conference calls as needed. Committee members will receive CME for writing items, attending exam-related meetings and administering exams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subject Matter Experts<\/strong> (SMEs) work closely with committee members and staff to develop exam items. Individuals who participate in exam writing will be required to complete AOA-provided item writing training. Physicians who participate in exam construction will earn CME.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examiners<\/strong> assist the committee in the administration of written, oral and clinical examinations. Examiners may need to attend an orientation prior to serving. Examiners will earn CME credits for administering exams.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in representing the osteopathic profession through one of these leadership roles, please complete a brief
