Longitudinal Assessment Platform Transition
AOA board-certified physicians* will complete their longitudinal assessments in the AOA’s Learning Portal (powered by Oasis) starting for most* on Jan. 26, 2026. The longitudinal assessment is an annual requirement and fulfills Component 3 of your Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC).
Why we’re moving in-house
We’re committed to improving your experience and streamlining operations. The new longitudinal assessment experience offers:
- Single Sign-On (SSO): Access through your AOA account—no extra credentials.
- Streamlined delivery experience: Now, all specialties will have their items available at once—no segmented releases.
- Personalized remediation: If you fail on your first attempt, no need to wait months to try again! Your second attempt opens seven days after your first attempt, allowing you to retake missed questions with the answer and rationale still fresh in your mind.
What’s staying the same?
Almost everything but the learning system is staying the same, including:
- Registration process: Register via the AOA Certification Portal.
- Assessment content: See the Component 3 page on your specialty’s website.
- Annual requirement for AOA board-certified physicians: Check the status of your OCC components.
What to expect next

Additional specialty-specific information will come directly from your specialty certifying board.
Did you register? Login to the AOA Certification Portal to make sure you are registered for your longitudinal assessment when access opens in January.
