OSTEOPATHIC BOARD CERTIFICATION

Component 4: Practice Performance Assessment & Improvement

Overview

Component 4 requires physicians to engage in continuous quality improvement through comparison of personal practice performance for their medical specialty.

Practice Performance Modules & Quality Improvement Attestation

The AOBNP requires completion of one module during the three-year OCC cycle. Since many physicians participate in quality improvement programs through their employer, AOBNP offers diplomates the option to attest to participating in a quality improvement program offered through their employer once during the three-year OCC cycle in place of completing a module.

If you have not participated in a quality improvement activity, you are required to complete an online Practice Performance Assessment (PPA) Module that includes the review of 10 charts.

Once a module topic is selected, each chart reviewed will need to be in the same topic area (i.e., if “Back Pain” is selected, all 10 charts reviewed will need to be regarding a patient with back pain).

Please note: Modules must be completed no more than 6 months after being started. You are not asked or required to submit or upload charts that are reviewed. You will receive an email confirmation after each form submission related to each chart reviewed.
