Component 4: Practice Performance Assessment & Improvement
Component 4 requires physicians to engage in continuous quality improvement through comparison of personal practice performance for their medical specialty.
Practice Performance Quality Improvement Attestation
The AOBNP has streamlined the submission process and reduced issues related to tracking completion of the Practice Performance Assessment (PPA) module which included a review of 10 charts, to fulfill the Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC) Component 4 requirement. Effective Jan. 1, 2023, you only need to submit a Quality Improvement Attestation form.
The AOBNP understands that many physicians participate in quality improvement programs through their employer. Therefore, we have developed an online attestation form which allows AOBNP diplomates to attest to participating in a quality improvement program. Note that to access the attestation form and answers to frequently asked questions, you must log in to the AOA Physician Portal.
The AOBNP requires that physicians complete one Quality Improvement (QI) activity attestation every three-year CME Cycle. The AOBNP will conduct future audits to ensure the attestations are accurate.
