Longitudinal Assessment Platform Transition

AOA board-certified physicians* will complete their longitudinal assessments in the AOA’s Learning Portal (powered by Oasis) beginning for most* on Jan. 26, 2026.

Why we’re moving in-house

We’re committed to improving your experience and streamlining operations. The new longitudinal assessment experience offers:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): Access through your AOA account—no extra credentials.
  • Streamlined delivery experience: Now, all specialties will have their items available at once—no segmented releases.
  • Personalized remediation: If you fail on your first attempt, no need to wait months to try again! Your second attempt opens seven days after your first attempt, allowing you to retake missed questions with the answer and rationale still fresh in your mind.

What’s staying the same?

Almost everything but the learning system is staying the same, including:

  • Registration process: All AOA board certified physicians will continue to register through the AOA Certification Portal using their AOA credentials. You have likely already registered for your 2026 Longitudinal Assessment!
  • Assessment content: The content for your longitudinal assessments will continue to reflect the quality and rigor you’ve come to know and expect from AOA Board Certification.
  • Annual requirement for AOA Board Certified physicians: Longitudinal Assessment will continue to be the way to complete Component 3 of your Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC) requirements. Learn more about OCC or check your OCC status on the AOA Physician Portal.
