Component 4: Practice Performance Assessment & Improvement
Component 4 requires physicians to engage in continuous quality improvement through comparison of personal practice performance measured against national standards for their medical specialty.
The AOBPMR requires diplomates to successfully complete one PPA module in each three-year CME cycle and a total of three PPA modules in each nine-year OCC cycle. The fee for participation is $200 every three-year CME cycle.
One of these three modules may be the Osteopathic Continuous Assessment and Training (O-CAT) module. O-CAT’s three-year subscription fee is $295.00. (Fees are subject to change.)
Diplomates may also attest to participation in a quality improvement (QI) activity for PPA credit. You can find the attestation form on the Physician Portal. You’ll need your AOA website login to access the online form. If you’re attesting to multiple QI activities, you must submit one form per QI activity.
