Component 4: Practice Performance Assessment & Improvement
Under Component 4 of the OCC process for the specialty of Emergency Medicine, physicians must complete two online practice performance improvement modules during each 10-year OCC cycle. Here’s how the modules work:
- Diplomates must complete the Initial Practice Assessment module during years 1-5 and years 6-10 of their own OCC cycle. No charts will be submitted. Ten CME credits will be awarded for completing the Initial Practice Assessment module.
- If diplomates do not meet the standards of the Initial Practice Assessment module, they must complete the Post-Intervention Practice Assessment below.
- Additionally, physicians can visit the AOA Physician Portal to attest. Please note you will be required to sign into the site using your Osteopathic.org login information. No CME will be awarded for attesting.
- Non-clinical physicians are required to complete all components of OCC except Component 4. If you are a non-clinical physician, please complete this online attestation form to notify that AOBEM that you are not in active clinical practice.
