August 2025 update from the ACOP
By Tyree Winters, DO, FACOP, FAAP

Greetings from the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP)!
We encourage everyone to attend the pediatric track at OMED 2025, proudly sponsored by ACOP.
This year’s track will feature a wide range of topics, including general pediatrics, pediatric gastroenterology, pulmonology, developmental and behavioral pediatrics, hematology/oncology, pediatric obesity and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) for pediatric performance medicine.
We hope to see you there, either in-person or virtually.
Read the latest issue of the Journal of Osteopathic Pediatrics (JOOP)
The summer 2025 edition is now available and includes several informative, thought-provoking articles. Topics include the link between adverse childhood events (ACEs) and disruptive childhood behaviors, as well as strategies for developing advocacy skills.
JOOP is an ACOP member benefit. The editorial board is committed to providing osteopathic trainees—whether pursuing or considering careers in pediatric osteopathy—a platform to publish and showcase their scholarship.
Interested in submitting an article or becoming a reviewer? We’d love to hear from you.
Support students and trainees in osteopathic pediatrics
Faculty and program directors: Do you have medical students, residents or fellows learning from you? Encourage them to join ACOP or their school’s ACOP student club. The AOA recognizes ACOP as the official home for osteopathic pediatricians, and we want future pediatricians to benefit from our community early in their careers.
If you’re not yet a member, we invite you to join us. Membership levels vary depending on your career stage.
