Coming soon: AOBS to collaborate with ABS to offer new designation opportunity
The American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS) is pleased to announce a collaboration with the American Board of Surgery (ABS). Osteopathic surgeons will now have the opportunity to sit for the written examination toward the new Focused Practice Designation for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. AOBS recognizes the many osteopathic surgeons with expertise in this specialty and the need for this valuable recognition opportunity. Potential candidates must first be board certified in general surgery under AOBS.
AOBS continues to work with ABS on the details of this collaboration. Please visit the AOBS website for further information to be posted shortly including eligibility requirements and application deadlines. The first exam testing opportunity will take place March 25 – April 14, 2025.
